Patrol deputies respond 24 hours a day to calls for service for everything from barking dogs to homicides, and regularly handle calls for traffic safety, domestic violence, burglaries, and other crimes. Additionally, the Patrol Division also utilizes the services of School Resource Officers (SROs), the Crisis Negotiations Team (CNT), the Sex Offender Task Force, and the SWAT Team.

The Patrol Division consists of three substations (Dayton, Fernley, and Silver Springs) in addition to the main Sheriff's Office and jail facility located in Yerington.
