LYON COUNTY CITIZENS ACADEMY
The Lyon County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) is pleased to announce that applications
are now being accepted for the highly anticipated 2026 Citizens Academy. The 2026
LCSO Citizens Academy will commence on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, and
continue through Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Classes will be held every
Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., starting at the Main Sheriff’s
Office 911 Harvey Way, Yerington, NV 89447. The remainder of the academy will be
held at the Silver Springs Senior Center located at 2945 Fort Churchill Rd. Silver
Springs NV 89429.

Rules and Requirements:
1. Participants must be at least 18 years of age.
2. A Criminal History check will be completed on each participant.
3. Participants are required to wear appropriate clothing attire (Business casual).
4. Participants are required to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.

Failure to comply may lead to dismissal:
1. Participants are not permitted to carry weapons at the Citizens Academy.
2. Class size is limited to 25 participants ensuring an engaging learning experience for all. Priority consideration will be given to persons living within Lyon County. Early submission is highly recommended
3. Participants are highly encouraged to attend all classes.
